Ronnie Dayan, former security aide of Senator Leila de Lima, was arrested in La Union Tuesday morning.
Senior Superintendent Leo Francisco of the La Union Police Provincial Office said Dayan will be transported to Manila and may be presented to the media by Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa.
Initial information said Dayan was arrested by joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-La Union, Provincial Police Office La Union, Provincial Police Office Pangasinan, and the Bacnotan police station.
Dayan was arrested in Sitio Turod, Brgy San Felipe in San Juan town.
A P1-million reward has been offered for the arrest of Dayan.
De Lima had recently admitted that she and Dayan had an affair. He is accused of collecting drug money for De Lima.
