Senator Panfilo Lacson has urged allies of President Rodrigo Duterte to find out the entities responsible for drumming up interest in the alleged rise of extrajudicial killings (EJKs) in the country amid the growing number of foreign bodies criticizing the administration’s bloody drug war.
In a statement, Lacson said “there is good reason” to believe that there is “heavy lobbying” taking place in the country using international media to draw the attention of foreign human rights groups and the International Criminal Court to EJKs allegedly occurring under Duterte’s watch.

“Whether or not it is organized and has something to do with local politics, the President’s men should immediately find out if they want this administration to last six years,” the senator said.
Lacson warned that failure of the President’s allies to get to the bottom of the alleged demolition job against him would indicate their willingness to let the administration fail.
“[I]f they are not doing anything along this line, they deserve whatever fate would befall on them,” he said.
Last week, the ICC’s chief prosecutor said his office will be “closely following developments in the Philippines in the weeks to come” amid reports that over 3,000 drug suspects have been killed since Duterte assumed office.
